Dear What Is The Issue With Teen Violence?,

Teen violence definitely is a problem in our society, and can include behaviors like bullying, verbal threats, physical fights, assaults, weapon use, gang violence, and suicide. There are many factors that contribute to teen violence, as well as preventative measures that can be taken to reduce the amount of teen violence in schools and communities.

Since TeenHealthFX is unsure as to what specific information you are looking for when you ask about the “issue” with teen violence, we recommend that you take a look at the information presented about teen violence by The National Youth Violence Resource Prevention Center, particularly checking out the links on “Violence Facts For Teens” and “What You Can Do.” You can also contact them at 1-866-SAFEYOUTH for more information.

You can also visit the following website for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry:

This site outlines what constitutes violent behavior in children and teens, factors that increase the risk of violent behaviors, warning signs for violent behavior in children and teens, and what to do to prevent this type of violence or address it if it does occur.
