Published: July 25, 2007
Dear TeenHealthFX,
I am a fourteen year old girl and in the past month my boyfriend left me but I might be pregnant with his kid, my dad left my mom for a woman 7 years older then me, my mom got raped, I’m dealing with my bulimic friend and my other friend who is just super sensitive, my brothers have been in and out of the hospital for small injuries, my mom abandoned me because I am a failure in her eyes and I’m living with a random girl from my daddy work and her girlfriend, I just found out we are moving in October and I have lived here my whole life and on top of all that my friend since I was eight died of brain cancer two weeks ago. No one listens to me and I feel like the only thing I have left in the world is a cat. I am deeply suicidal I already have a weapon and a date but I don’t want to hurt the baby but I will get kicked out of my house when that find out. What do I do?

Dear I Am Deeply Suicidal,
TeenHealthFX can appreciate that you are feeling overwhelmed by everything that has gone on recently in your life. But please do not consider suicide as an option. Things can get better and there are people out there who will want to be there for you in a caring and supportive way.
FX thinks that it is very important for you to meet with a mental health professional so that you can get support and guidance in dealing with all of these difficult issues, as well as to develop health coping mechanisms so you will not be left feeling like you want to end your life.
It is also critical that you meet with your primary care physician or a healthcare provider at Planned Parenthood or your local adolescent health clinic to determine whether or not you are pregnant, as well as to be educated about what your options are in the event you are pregnant and receive the support you will need with whatever option you choose.
