Dear Music and Dance Keeps Me Alive,
TeenHealthFX would first like to say that we hope you will continue to have music and dance as an integral part of your life now and for the years to come. If music and dance brings you joy and sustains you, then it is certainly important that you keep these two things in your life as much as you possibly can.
In terms of achieving a sense of satisfaction and happiness outside of music and dance, this is a hard question for FX to answer since we are unsure of the particular areas you would like to feel a greater sense of satisfaction in, as well as what you feel the obstacles are for you in these specific areas. That said, FX recommends that you think about this and discuss it with a trusted adult in your life or with the help of a trained therapist. Think about what areas in your life you would like to improve (such as friendships, romantic relationships, family relationships, school, etc.), and what may be getting in the way of your feeling better about some of these things. Once you have identified a goal and the obstacle to that goal – think about a plan to address that obstacle. For example, if you would like to improve your peer relationships, make an effort at finding ways to meet new people and at scheduling enough time in your week to be with friends. If you would like to feel less edgy or depressed, consider meeting with a therapist for outpatient therapy or with a psychiatrist to be assessed for the use of psychotropic medication.
If you live in northern
