Dear Tips To Brighten Smile,
Unfortunately, TeenHealthFX has no "homemade remedies" to whiten yellow teeth, but FX does suggest that you see your dentist about your discolored teeth. He/she can discuss with you the most economical way to brighten your teeth. Most dental insurance does not cover cosmetic treatments but dentists are sometimes willing to work out payment plans with their patients for bleaching or other more expensive treatments.
There are over the counter products such as whitening toothpaste (priced anywhere from $2.50 - $6.00), but they usually take time to work. Be careful because many whitening toothpastes use harsh abrasives to clean teeth, which can also damage your teeth over time.
Home bleaching or tooth whitening systems can take from 2 to 6 weeks depending on the degree of tooth discoloration. There are some new over the counter products known as whitening strips that have been getting good results. "White Strips" (approximately $39.99) is a product that seems to generate good outcomes. Most of these over the counter products only remove stains on the tooth surface. There is very little actual bleaching. There are other teeth whitening systems that range anywhere from $9.99 to $35.00. You can visit your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for a recommendation.
Try logging on to American Dental Association to find out more information on dental hygiene or read TeenHealthFX answer to Want Pearly White Teeth for additional tips on brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and mouth clean.
