Feces, Poop & Butt Issues / Question
Published: October 18, 2001

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I'm a 16-year-old female and I have a spot on my butt crack that is red, swollen and hard. It's been like that for over a week and is very painful! What do you think it is?

Dear Spot On Butt,

TeenHealthFX cannot tell for certain what this red bump is over the internet. It sounds like it could be a pimple or even an ingrown hair. If the spot is painful in any way or it seems to be growing, you should consult your doctor about it. Because the spot is in a sensitive area it could also be coming from an irritation from wiping to much, sweating or rubbing from your clothing. So as you can see it could be any number of things that only your doctor would be able to diagnose.
