Dear Can Girls Get Hair On Their Nipples?,

It is absolutely possible for girls to get some amount of hair on their nipples. If there are just a few stray hairs you might consider simply plucking the hairs with a good pair of tweezers. If there are more than just a few hairs, you can consider waxing the hair or even bleaching the hairs so that they are less noticeable. If you do decide to try waxing, FX does suggest that you have this done by a professional as it can be easy to burn yourself or damage the skin in some way if you are inexperienced with this method of hair removal. More costly methods, and hair-removal techniques that can result in the permanent removal of hair, include laser therapy and electrolysis.

If you have any further concerns about this issue and how to deal with it, speak to your primary care physician, a dermatologist, or an adolescent medicine specialist. If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-6475 for an appointment or Girl’s Street – A Young Woman’s Health Program – at 908.522.2555. You can also contact your local teen health center or call your insurance company for a list of in-network PCPs and dermatologists.
