Feces, Poop & Butt Issues / Question
Published: August 1, 2000

Dear TeenHealthFX,

Every time I go to the toilet my bum hole splits and I bleed, not for long however, but it is extremely painful. Also, my vagina itches a lot at night, but if I scratch it too much it gets sore?

Dear Bleeding Butt & Vaginal Itching,

This sounds like something you need to go to the doctor for as TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose you over the Internet. We can tell you that if you are bleeding in your buttocks region and are having vaginal itching that your doctor will be able to diagnose you and treat the problem.

Bleeding by your anus can be a sign of an infection, hemorrhoids or fissure (see Bleeding from the Crack of My Butt). All are treatable and your doctor can give you medication. Same thing for the vaginal itching. Vaginal itching can be a sign of a yeast infection or an STD, so do not waste time and get it checked out.

If you are sexually active and cannot speak to your own doctor, call a local Planned Parenthood or teen health center in your area. In the meantime, do not have sex as you could be making the problem worse or becoming more irritated.
