Aches & Pains / Question

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I have been getting headaches for a long time and I have noticed that they happen when I am tired or upset about anything. Could it be just stress or is it something I should consult a doctor for?

Dear Headaches,

Headaches have many causes. Although it is true that a headache may be related to stress or not enough sleep, it is important to be certain there is no medical reason for your recurrent headaches. Not only can your doctor make sure there is no medical problem, but he or she can discuss the stress you are experiencing and perhaps help you manage it better. That said, FX recommends that you schedule an appointment with your doctor or with a physician that specializes in adolescent medicine to discuss your symptoms and concerns.
