Dear TeenHealthFX,

: I met this girl at camp and we have gotten really close. I tell her I love her, and she tells me she loves me...but it's hard because she is all I can think about and it distresses me that I can't be with her. I guess I'm just not quite sure what I should do. I am 15 and so is she; we live halfway across the country from one another. I don't even know what kind of advice I'm asking for, just what can I do to not miss her so much? Or I don't know, any other random advice. It looks like y'all give some pretty good advice at this place. Okay, thanks.

Dear Missing Girl From Camp,

TeenHealthFX knows a long-distance relationship can be hard. It is especially difficult after spending an extended period of time together and not knowing when the next time will be.

Although you will not be able to see her on a regular basis, you can still keep in touch with each other on a regular basis. Since you mentioned living halfway across the country, talking on the phone could get very expensive. You can write letters, send each other funny cards or mail and instant message each other.

You can get to know each other better and over a period of time figure out how your relationship will develop. Realistically, long distance relationships are hard to keep going, especially at age 15, an age when teens generally do not have much money for travel or a driver's license. However, you never know so keep in touch and discover for yourselves what your relationship will be like.
