Dear Feel Too Let Down In Life,

TeenHealthFX hears how sad you feel.  Losing love, feeling neglected, living in the past and feeling that you cannot enjoy life are things that would be hard for anyone to deal with.  It is important for you to know that with help, you can feel happiness and have good friendships.  TeenHealthFX cannot take away your pain, but we can help you find the right path to feeling better.

You do not say if your parents know how sad you are feeling.  If they do not they need to hear from you that your sad and want to feel better.  If you cannot confide in them, you need to find another adult you can trust, like an aunt or uncle, a school nurse or teacher.  They can help you find a therapist who can talk to you and help you deal with your sad feelings.

If you live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Atlantic Behavioral Health ACCESS line at 888.247.1400.  Being sad constantly and feeling stuck in the past is something a counselor can help you through.

Something else you can do is read our answer to What Is A Good Friendship? to understand what qualities go into being a good friend.   It explains how you can be a good friend as well as what to look for in a friend.

If you reach the point where thoughts of suicide are intruding on your thoughts and you are afraid of what you might do then you need to get help immediately.   If you live in northern New Jersey you can call the Morristown Memorial Crisis Hotline at 973.540.0100. Outside this area call the Suicide & Crisis Hotline 1-800-999-9999, 24 hours, 7 days a week.
