More Than Friends Or Just Friends / Question
Published: May 9, 2002
Dear TeenHealthFX,
I am a 13-year-old girl. I am very quiet at school and I completely mind my own business and I am fully into my school work. Although recently I heard a guy in my science class say to his friends that I kept looking at him and that I must like him. I never looked at him and I really don't like him. Now, during science he always sticks his butt up thinking I'm looking at it and it makes me mad. I am not that kind of girl and I want him to know that. What should I do? Answer quick, this is bugging me!

Dear I Am Not Looking,
FX can see why this makes you uncomfortable, it is important to set the record straight with him by telling him how his actions make you feel. He may be acting this way because he in fact likes you or he knows it gets you mad. If you don't want to talk to him about it, ignoring him may be another option. If you ignore him, he will probably get bored and stop.
Either way it is important that you can go to your class, feel comfortable and be able to concentrate on your work. If it continues, ask your teacher or school counselor for help.
