Dear TeenHealthFX,

I find that I am pretty good with long distance relationships and I have been dating this guy who lives 8 hours away from me. At the beginning of our relationship the time we spent not seeing each other made me want him more intellectually. But now when we are apart it is more physical feelings than that lovely feeling. Does this mean we aren't going to last? What can I do to get that "intellectual" feeling back?

Dear Want,

Every relationship takes hard work and effort, but long distance relationships seem to be even more challenging. Maybe you miss him more "physically" because you are not seeing him in person. Communicating on the telephone or through letters provides you with more of an intellectual relationship, not to mention an expensive phone bill. Only time will tell if your relationship will last, but being honest with him about your feelings will help you both in giving your long distance relationship a fair chance.
