Breasts & Bras / Question
Published: April 30, 2002

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I am 17 and lopsided, B and C cups. I feel extremely uncomfortable with myself, even if I wear a pad and no one knows. For myself, I need to correct the problem. Is surgery the only answer?

Dear Lopsided B & C Cups,

Many women have breasts that are not perfectly symmetrical - check out TeenHealthFX's answer to A & B Cup. It is not unusual for there to be a difference in breast size especially during the teenage years when your breasts are still continuing to grow. It sounds as though you have tried wearing pads and they still make you feel uncomfortable.

The difference in breast size should become less noticeable after you have completed growing. TeenHealthFX thinks that you should wait a few more years and experiment with other products to make your breasts look even before considering surgery, as surgery does carry risks. If after you have given your breasts time to even out you are still not satisfied, then speak with a physician about what options are available to you.
