Dear TeenHealthFX,
How do I make myself go longer during sex? Is there a way to avoid premature ejaculation?

Dear Ways To Make Myself Go Longer During Sex,
TeenHealthFX is glad that you wrote. Premature ejaculation often occurs in younger males during their beginning experiences with sex. This is mostly attributed to anxiety. As a person becomes more comfortable with their sexuality and their partner they will have more control over their orgasm. Also keep in mind that often males may not be sure of exactly what is considered premature ejaculation. The average male takes less than three minutes from the time of insertion until he ejaculates.
There are very effective behavioral techniques to deal with premature ejaculation. These techniques, once learned, are easy to practice, and much safer than altering your body with drugs. Lastly, remember that it is important to remain open and honest with your partner about the problems you are experiencing. Sex can be scary, but being completely honest with yourself and your partner can help to relieve that built up tension and even help to eliminate some of the problem.
If you are concerned about premature ejaculation, TeenHealthFX recommends that you see your doctor. Your doctor can evaluate you and recommend ways of dealing with this problem, if necessary. If you do not have your own doctor, or are uncomfortable discussing this issue with him or her and live in northern New Jersey you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973.971.6475; outside of this area you can contact you local teen health center or Planned Parenthood.
Whenever the discussion of sex comes up, TeenHealthFX always has to take the opportunity to remind our readers to always practice safer sex and use birth control to avoid STDs and pregnancy.
