Penis & Testicle Concerns / Question
Published: May 23, 2002

Dear TeenHealthFX,

On my left testicle there is a little ball attached to it. It feels like a smaller testicle attached to the big one. Please explain if this is normal or not. I've had it for as long as I can remember.

Dear Testicle Problem,

FX is glad that you are taking notice of your body. However. TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose your situation over the Internet. To really understand what is going on you need to be examined by a doctor as soon as possible (which FX thinks you should see a doctor). This would be the only way to accurately diagnose and make appropriate treatment recommendations if necessary. While it may be embarrassing to discuss with your parents, it is important that you take the necessary steps to insure your health.

In addition, it is also recommended that males perform testicular self-exams (TSE) beginning at the age of 13. For more information and how to perform the self-exam click on One Testicle Bigger.

If you do not have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, please call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at (973) 971-6475.

Signed: TeenHealthFX
