Dear TeenHealthFX,
I am a diabetic and 13 years old but I am unable to ejaculate. Is there something wrong with me?

Dear Unable To Ejaculate - Diabetic,
Although there can be a relationship between sexual dysfunction and older men, that is not usually true with people your age. As long as you are feeling well, monitoring your glucose levels, eating properly, exercising, maintaining a healthy weight, and having regular checkups with your doctor, your diabetes should not get in the way of your ability to have an erection. Diabetes shouldn't cause a problem unless your diabetes is way out of control. For more detailed information on diabetes and related side effects, check out the American Diabetes Association online at http://www.diabetes.org/ or talk to your doctor.
Now as far as not being able to ejaculate goes, your question is very similar to some others that TeenHealthFX has received. This said, "You are not alone." TeenHealthFX cannot tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong, only a doctor can tell you that. FX can give you some information though and some other answers to similar questions.
TeenHealthFX has answered similar questions about ejaculation - check out the answers to these questions for some more information: 13, No Wet Dreams Or Ejaculation and Can't Ejaculate.
If you continue to have problems ejaculating, then you should consult with your doctor. He or she will be able to determine if there is a physical reason you are not able to reach climax. If there is a problem, your doctor will work with you to correct it.
If you do not feel comfortable discussing this with your own doctor, and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973.971.6475 for an appointment. Outside of this area you can go to a teen health center or your local Planned Parenthood. A teen health center can see you confidentially and on a low/no cost basis.
