Penis & Testicle Concerns / Question
Published: August 14, 2002

Dear TeenHealthFX,

Last year I noticed a slightly smaller penis growing beneath my "original" one. Is it normal for a guy to grow a second penis? I asked my friends about this but none of them take me seriously. Should I see a doctor?

Dear Two Penises,

Unfortunately, TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose you over the Internet. Only a doctor who has examined you would be able to give you an accurate explanation as to what is going on. While it is unlikely that you are growing a second penis, any sort of abnormal growth in your genital region should be checked out immediately. Knowing what the problem is and how to address it, will go a long way to help easing your mind.

A teen health clinic can see teens for sexual health reasons confidentially, without your parent's permission and on a low/no cost basis. If you live in the Northern New Jersey area you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center For Health at 973.971.6475 for an appointment. If you live outside Northern New Jersey, please call your local Planned Parenthood.
