Dear TeenHealthFX,
I am a 14-year-old female. Lately, I have been dreaming about other females such as famous people and friends I am attracted to. Is this normal or am I becoming bisexual?

Dear Am I Bisexual,
No matter what your sexual preference is, whether you are gay, lesbian, straight or bisexual, all are normal. Your last question "is this normal or am I becoming a bisexual?" implied that anything but straight is abnormal. Let TeenHealthFX tell you that this is not so and is completely false. Whatever anyone's sexual preference is, is normal!
Your dreams about other females are normal too. Many women and men have fantasies and dreams about members of the same sex that turn them on physically. This does not definitely mean that you are gay, lesbian or bisexual. What it does mean is that you are having dreams and you have some attraction to other females.
Your teenage years are a time in your life where you are coming to terms with your sexuality, sexual identity and sexual preference. You are learning what and whom you like and do not like. This is normal and it is good that you are experiencing the process. It is important to note that sexual preference is something that is biological and predetermined, which means that if you are gay, straight, lesbian or bisexual that you do not have a choice about it. Your body finds certain things attractive.
Teenagers often have difficulty coming to terms with their sexuality and need help dealing with all the issues associated with it. If this is confusing you or making you feel bad, try to find someone to talk to about this, like a family member, doctor or school counselor.
