Dear Tender Penis Head,
Unfortunately, TeenHealthFX cannot make diagnoses over the Internet, so we cannot tell you if something is wrong or not. Even though chances are what you’re experiencing is nothing serious, it’s important for you to make a doctor’s appointment to get things checked out. You’re going to need properly functioning sexual organs for the rest of your life, so it’s best to be 100% sure that everything is ok.
You don’t say whether or not the tenderness you’re experiencing is a new development or has been going on for a long time. A lot of circumcised men actually complain that they lose sensitivity in the penis head because it has rubbed against clothing for so long. If your penis head has remained covered by your foreskin for most of your life, and has not been exposed to clothing or been touched during masturbation, chances are it’s going to be a little sensitive—there are a lot of nerves concentrated there, which can end up producing both pleasurable and painful sensations. It’s important to have a doctor confirm that everything is ok and your penis head is just a little tender because it hasn’t been touched all that much, but once you’re sure that everything is normal you could try to reduce your sensitivity a little bit—walking around for a few hours a day with your penis foreskin pulled back (if it will stay back on its own) inside your underwear, might help a little bit. Of course, this might just give you an erection, but you could work on it. You could also try touching the head of your penis more regularly, to get it used to being stimulated and less sensitive to being touched. Your doctor might also have some advice on how to reduce the tenderness as well.
If you don't have a doctor and live in northern
