Pregnancy: Could I Be Pregnant? / Question
Published: June 18, 2007

Dear TeenHealthFX,

These Teen Health Centers seem very very helpful. However, what if you do not live in New Jersey, or even the United States? If you live in Canada, where could you go for such services that would be able to help you without parent consent? Are such benefits available in the states? Please help me. I cant let my parents know about my possible pregnancy.

Dear Needs Services In Canada,

Canada has many resources for pregnant teens. However, these services can vary from province to province, so it would depend on where you live in terms of what is available.

There are Planned Parenthood centers available in Canada. Most cities have their own local chapters – you would need to look up the one closest to your home town. The following is the link to the one in Toronto:

There is another group, The Canadian Federation for Sexual Health, which has local offices all over Canada:

There is this help-line as well:

If you think you may be pregnant, TeenHealthFX suggests that you use the resources listed above to find out what services are available to you. That way you can meet with a healthcare professional to determine whether or not you are pregnant, to discuss your options in the event you are pregnant, and to learn about safer sex practices to protect yourself from future unwanted pregnancies.
