Dear When I Masturbate My Sperm Is Clear - Is That Normal?,

Being 11 years old, FX would assume that you are at the beginning of puberty. And there is nothing unusual about young men ejaculating clear sperm in the early stages of puberty. Young men first ejaculate around 12 months after puberty starts – in the beginning the volume of semen is often small, is typically clear, and often remains jellylike rather than liquefying as it does for adult males. As you get older and proceed through puberty you will most likely find that your semen will continue to develop more and more of the qualities of mature sperm.

Keep in mind, as well, that the volume, color, and consistency of semen will vary from person to person – during puberty and for adult men. However, if you ever find you have any concerns or questions about your semen, or related to ejaculation, please speak with your primary care physician or an adolescent medicine specialist. If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-6475 for an appointment or contact your local teen health center or Planned Parenthood. You can also contact your insurance company for a list of in-network providers.

For more information on semen, please see Planned Parenthood’s webpage All About Semen.
