Published: June 12, 2001

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I am 15 and I have developed a chest. I just want to know if it will increase in size or stay this size forever? Also what is the average age that a women's chest stops growing?

Dear When Will My Chest Stop Growing,

A females breasts continue to grow for approximately four years after the onset of puberty.

So most likely your breast will continue to develop for another year or two. The final size of a woman's breast is determined by heredity. Breast size varies greatly among women and all sizes are normal and healthy.

For more information on breast development, see Period At 12, Stopped, No Breast Development.
