Penis & Testicle Concerns / Question
Published: December 16, 2001

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I have some small warts on the underside of my penis but have not had sex. I have heard they are an STD (sexually transmitted disease), so how did I get them.

Dear Penile Warts. How Did I Get Them,

Until a doctor has examined you, it would be hard to say what your condition is. Since you are not sexually active there is a good chance that your condition is not a sexually transmitted disease. The only way to find out for sure what these warts or growths are is to make an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible and have it checked out. The doctor will be able to diagnose your condition and recommend a course of treatment.

If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-6475 for an appointment. Outside this area contact your local teen health center or Planned Parenthood
