Dear Smells So Bad That It Even Leaves Smell On Furniture,
Everyone's vulva - that's the technical term for "pussy," or the entirety of a woman's genitals - has some sort of natural odor. However, sometimes the smell can be unpleasant. This may be the result of poor hygiene - which doesn't sound like the problem in your case. If this continues, we suggest you speak to a doctor, who can figure out if you are having any medical issues that might be causing this smell. If you do not have a doctor and you live in Northern New Jersey, please call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at (973) 971.6475. If you live elsewhere, get in touch with your local adolescent health center or clinic.
Most often unpleasant vaginal odor is the result of a vaginal infection. Bacterial vaginosis causes a "fishy"-like odor. A gynecologist should be able to diagnose and treat your vaginal odor.
In the meanwhile, we recommend that you bathe or shower every day, wash your genitals with warm water and pat the area dry with a clean towel, wear underwear made only of cotton, and try to avoid tight clothing which can trap moisture and bacteria.
