Dear Want To Be 90lbs,
TeenHealthFX is concerned about the reasons why you need to lose so much weight. 90 pounds is very light for most people. Also, eating just 800 calories a day is not good or healthy for you. You really need to speak with your doctor and possibly a nutritionist about what your weight goals are.
Your doctor can provide you with information about a healthy weight range for someone your age and height. He/she may recommend that you see a nutritionist who can help you plan a healthy approach to weight loss, which should include food choices and exercise. Dieting for teenagers can be tricky because your body is still growing and you need adequate calories to ensure this. Fasting and fads are approaches to weight loss that should be avoided.
Many teenagers believe that losing weight is the answer to becoming happy with yourself and your body. This is not true! If you are dissatisfied with your body, you may need to speak with a counselor. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and get help if necessary.
