Dear TeenHealthFX,

Everyone says I'm big boned. If I exercise every day and eat right can I change my bone size? I don't want to be big boned all of my life.

Dear Big Boned,

Although healthy eating habits and exercise will help you to remain strong and healthy, bone size is something you cannot change. As a teenager, it's very common to dislike certain characteristics about yourself. Try to find the ones you like both about your body and your personality, and focus on them. Remember your probably not done growing yet and your body will change over time. It is important that you like yourself not just on the outside, but on the inside too. If you have any questions about your body or if you continue to feel dissatisfied with your body image, talk to your doctor or meet with a nutritionist.
