worried About Spot

Published: March 01, 2014
Dear TeenHealthFX,

Hello, I wanted to ask this question on here as I am quite embarrassed and kinda worried to see a doctor. Anyways, I have discovered a few weeks ago a white spot/round lump about 4mm big. I kinda ignored it, but a few weeks later I got a similar spot on my hand (I guess it's obvious why). It does not hurt, or really do anything, it's jut embarrassing it being there. Furthermore, I'd like to point out I haven't done any sexual activities so I have no idea what it could be. Any advice into what it is would be appreciated.

Dear worried About Spot,

It wouldn’t be fair to you to just give you our best guess not to mention that if you needed treatment there is nothing that can be done over the internet. Going to the doctor will relieve your worry and embarrassment as well. Most doctors understand that talking about some medical problems can be very difficult for some of their patients. Their training and experience in medicine goes a long way to putting their patient at ease. Your doctor is not there to judge you. You came to him/her with a problem and he/she are going to use the resources at their disposal to solve that problem. That is what they do. Make the appointment and your half way there to the solution.

If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Morristown 973-971-6475 or the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Summit at 908-522-5757 for an appointment. Outside this area contact your local teen health center or Planned Parenthood
