Not All the Semen Comes Out

Published: June 30, 2013
Dear TeenHealthFX,

Hey just wondering if this is bad or not: so when I ejaculate, not all the semen comes out, and I have to pee it out. Is that bad, I mean could the semen get stuck in the urethra. and One more question, it burns when I pee, never had any sexual contact before and I masturbate maybe 3 times a week, is that bad and should I see doctor for that and I know you can't diagnose me but what could these symptoms signify? Thanks

Dear Not All the Semen Comes Out,

If you are experiencing a burning sensation when you urinate then you need to see a doctor. This could be a sign of an infection. Infections can occur without sexual contact and are easy to treat.

While at the doctor you can bring up the issue about not being able to fully ejaculate. It may be related to your second ailment but the doctor will be able to let you know for sure.

If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Morristown 973-971-6475 or the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Summit at 908-522-5757 for an appointment. Outside this area contact a local Adolescent Medicine Specialist, your local teen health center.
