Stream of Water Bad For Vagina?

Published: October 01, 2013
Dear TeenHealthFX,

My doctor recommended that I not use body soap because it was irritating my vagina. So instead I sat down in the tub and let the facet run above so I felt like I was getting it some what clean. I accidently gave myself an orgasm due to the water pressure. I've done it a few more times since then because I've found it easier to get an orgasm from. But I'm concerned that all the water might be bad for my vaginal area. Are there any health concerns that come with that?

Dear Stream of Water Bad For Vagina?,

Many women use a stream of water as a way of masturbating. There are two issues that you would want to be mindful of. You don’t want the force of the water to be so strong that it would injure the vaginal area. The other is that you make sure that you test the temperature of the water before spray towards your vaginal area. The vaginal area is can very sensitive, and as you can imagine, it would be very painful to get scalded in that area.

A lot of people use water to help them masturbate. One thing to avoid is sending strong streams of water directly into your vagina, as that can be potentially dangerous because of the force of the water flow. Also  It seems like the water that came out of your vagina was from the shower spray you'd done earlier.
