Dear 11 and Haven't Started Puberty Yet,

Usually puberty starts between ages 8 and 13 in girls and ages 9 and 15 in boys. So to be 11 years old and not have started puberty is completely normal. You should be going for a yearly well-visit with your doctor, so you can always check in with him/her during your next visit if you have questions or concerns about it. But, again, to be 11 and not have started puberty does not automatically indicate a problem.

Remember that people are different. Therefore, people will develop differently and at different paces when it comes to going through puberty. It can be hard for boys or girls who are the first out of their friends to go through puberty just as it can be hard for boys or girls who are the last ones out of their friends to go through these changes. But remember that eventually everything evens out. Your turn with all of these changes will come!

For more information, you can read the KidsHealth article All About Puberty. Any questions or concerns you may have can be directed to a parent, your doctor or even your school nurse.
