If this is the case, then the bleeding you experienced was most likely due to stopping the pills during the active part of the pack. TeenHealthFX recommends that you schedule an appointment with a doctor so that he/she can make sure the yeast infection is cleared up and help you to get back on track with your birth control pills again.
If you are sexually active, it is important for you to use a back-up method of birth control (such as condoms) until your doctor gives you the ok that you are back on track with the pills. Doctors generally recommend that teens and young adults who choose to be sexually active use condoms in addition to birth control methods such as the pill anyways in order to provide protection against the transmission of STDs (since the pill does not provide that protection).
Finally, FX wants to ensure that you know that you can continue with birth control pills during other medical treatments, such as treating a yeast infection.
