I Have Depression. Is This Normal?
TeenHealthFX is sorry to hear about what you are going through. First, we would like to point out that we cannot diagnose or treat over the internet and are concerned how exactly you know you have depression.
Did you get diagnosed by a medical professional? Are you seeing a counselor or therapist? If your answer to either question is no, we strongly recommend that you start there. It is extremely important to get support from a trusted adult and seek help from an expert. If you live in Northern New Jersey and need help finding a therapist, you can call the Access Center for Atlantic Behavioral Health at 888-247-1400.
Second, try not to be so hard on yourself. Everyone handles things in a different way it doesn’t make right or wrong. Emotions are real and at times can be very difficult to handle especially when you do not have helpful coping skills. Take some time to reflect on your feelings by journaling or meditating. Be kind to yourself.
If you feel you need additional support call the Northern New Jersey crisis hotline from Morristown Medical Center at 973-540-0100. You can also contact the Crisis Text Line by Texting HOME to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor.
