Experienceing Creepy Hallucinations

Published: October 31, 2016
Dear TeenHealthFX,
Hello, I've been experiencing these creepy hallucinations for around 1-2 years now, they're mostly auditory like voices and sounds, and also I've been feeling things that aren't real also. I will mostly hear screams or mumbling or laughing, but it's hard to make out and a little faint. It seems like it's getting worse really slowly and I've been very parinoid around people at school and at home, I always feel like someone is planning something on me or stalking me. It's also been harder to concentrate on easy things like chores and I have been pacing a lot. I'm kinda worried their is something going on with me though.

Dear Experienceing Creepy Hallucinations,

It must be very difficult for you going through your day having to listen to these sounds. TeenHealthFX cannot give you a definitive explanation of what is going on, but we think it is very important that you see a doctor so you can find some peace. Since you are describing scenarios where you’re having visual and auditory hallucinations and bouts of paranoia, you should make an appointment with a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist will work with you to deal with the symptoms you have been experiencing. He/She may also refer you to a therapist who can help you understand what you have been experiencing

If you live in northern New Jersey and need help finding a therapist you can call the Access Center from Atlantic Behavioral Health at 888-247-1400. Outside of this area you can log onto the US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website for referrals in your area.
