Dear Coronavirus (COVID-19): Can Clorox Wipes Kill The Virus?,

Even though COVID-19 is a new virus to us, it is very similar to SARS and MERS (we explain those here). The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) explain that when used properly, Clorox wipes among many kinds of disinfectants can be effective in killing COVID-19, also known as SAR-CoV-2.

Majority of new cases that are being diagnosed are from person to person. There has not been a documented case of someone contracting COVID-19 from a surface yet. However, it is necessary to take extra precautions to stay safe. The CDC states that COVID-19 can live in the air for up to 3 hours, on cardboard for 24 hours, and metal/plastic for up to 3 days. Therefore, it is very important to make sure you disinfect all items that may have been exposed to the public. An example of this would be groceries!

How to clean and disinfect properly as explained by the CDC can be found here . Don’t forget the easiest and most effective way to prevent transmitting COVID-19 is to wash your hands.
