Dear It Takes Me 1.5 Hours to Fall Asleep. Is This Normal?,

TeenHealthFX knows how important sleep is. Healthline explains on average it takes most people 10-20 minutes to fall asleep once they are in bed and ready for sleep. Based on the information you provided, we suggest starting your bedtime routine earlier and turning off your computer sooner especially if the room is dark while you are on it. The blue light from your computer screen or even your phone can cause your brain to think it is daylight and make you stay awake longer. WebMD suggests not using any device that transmits blue light at least 2 hours before bed to allow your brain to prepare to rest and sleep.  We suggest giving these suggestions a try first.

In terms of melatonin, it can be safe to use when the right dosage is recommended from a doctor. We strongly recommend reaching out to a parent or trusted adult and see a doctor to make sure you get the right dosage for you. We hope this helps!
