Coming out is a personal decision, and it’s okay to take your time with it. Be kind to yourself throughout this process, and don’t forget to lean on those who love and support you.

- If you are unsure about your parents' reaction, we suggest reaching out to a trusted adult, such as a teacher or school counselor for guidance. They can give you support and advice.
- Pick the right time. They may have some questions for you, and you want their full attention during this conversation. Picking a time when they are not distracted or stressed would be best.
- Remember that you are not alone. You are not the only one going through this experience and there are support groups / communities out there that understand what you are going through.
- Be honest and it’s okay if you do not have all the answers right now.
This may take some time for them to process and lead to more conversations in the future. Lean on the trusted adults you have in your life or speak to a school counselor if you are unsure who to go to.
