Adolescent Health: Think. Act. Grow. (TAG)

Adolescent Health: Think. Act. Grow. (TAG)

What is TAG?

TAG builds on previous national initiatives in adolescent health. OAH (Office of Adolescent Health) convened leaders of national organizations in the fields of health, social services, faith-based communities, and education; and parent and youth serving groups to develop and implement TAG. These groups identified the five essentials for adolescent health and possible roles and responsibilities that, together, have helped inform this national effort.

TAG calls upon organizations and individuals working with adolescents to prioritize activities that improve adolescent health, including physical, social, emotional, and behavioral health. The Office of Adolescent Health (OAH) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is leading this effort.

For Teens:

Part of the TAG initiative is to provide teens with websites and other tools that will allow them to get healthy and stay healthy. TAG provides resources in four important areas:

  • Health care (information on taking care of your body, doctor visits, health insurance and more)
  • Getting involved (information on school connectedness and being a mentor)
  • Healthy Relationships (tools for building healthy friendships, being there for others, and communicating with your parents and other adults)
  • Healthy Habits (information on sleep, preventing drug abuse, exercise, and more)
