White Bumps For a Year

Published: May 14, 2012
Dear TeenHealthFX,

Hi I've had some problems and I just want to ask your opinion before I ask my dad to take me to the doctor again. It’s embarrassing so I don't want to go and it costs money we are poor and my dad can't afford it. For a while now I have had this white bump under my penis head. It’s about the size of the little white dot on a pimple. He said it’s a common cyst and will go away in a few months. But I've had it for a few months before I went to him and now it’s been around a year or more and it’s still there. It’s been really sore and I'm afraid that it’s something else. I also noticed a bump on my left testicle it almost looked like a wart. But I have never had sex before so I am confused on what it is. I know you can't diagnose me on the internet but can you just tell me what you think it could be and if I just ask my dad about going to the doctor again? Thanks in advance.

Dear White Bumps For a Year,

Penile and scrotal skin can be lumpy and bumpy by nature. To determine if the bump under you penis head or the bump on your testicle are cause for concern you would have to be examined by a doctor. You should definitely ask your dad to take you for an appointment. There are many health clinics that will treat you on a low or no cost basis.

If you live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Morristown 973-971-6475 or the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health in Summit at 908-522-5757 for an appointment. Outside this area contact a local teen health center or Planned Parenthood.
