Why Is My Period So Irregular?
Unfortunately, TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose over the internet. Often, when girls start their periods (also known as the menstrual cycle) it can be very irregular. In fact, irregular periods can last for approximately 2 years after getting your first period and no two people have the same exact cycle. Kids Health explains, periods can be impacted by so many things such as exercise, stress, or weight loss or gain.
Since you mention having your period for a month or more each time, we strongly recommend that you see your medical professional. A doctor will be able to give you a proper exam, determine the cause of your irregular periods, discuss your concerns and treatment options with you. In addition, TeenHealthFX also recommends writing down or putting a note in your cell phone the date of the first day the spotting or period started. Then, every month it can help you keep a record of the first day when spotting or actual bleeding occurs to help you keep track of your periods.
