My Period is Late. I am Not Sure What to Do.
TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose over the internet, however, given the scenario you described, there is a very small chance you can be pregnant. Since you mention having irregular periods, it is possible that it could just be late due to stress, illness, or some other factor. We recommend keeping track of your period and ensuring that you do get within the next week or two. If you do miss your period or are still concerned, we strongly recommend taking a pregnancy test to confirm and to follow up with a doctor.
Remember your menstrual (period) cycle starts on the first day of your period. If you need more information on how to track your period, check out our Need to Know page. If you need help finding a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist.
