Are Winter Blues Real? Why Do I Feel Down All The Sudden?
Yes, the “winter blues” are a real thing and you are not alone. Many people feel the effects of daylight savings time and what people refer to as the winter blues. When it starts getting dark at 4pm and it is getting colder out, we are exposed to less sunlight and it can result in people feeling a variety of ways.
The “winter blues” can make you feel less motivated, sad for no reason, moody or very tired. If you find yourself having trouble doing regular tasks, extremely unmotivated and/or having a really hard time coping, we suggest reaching out to a trusted adult and see a medical professional. There is a disorder called seasonal affect disorder that is a mild form of depression, but is treatable!
