I Think I Might Be Bisexual. How Do I Know?
TeenHealthFx wants to assure you this is a question many teenagers ask themselves. Knowing your sexual orientation is not always simple and can sometimes change as you get older. Sexual orientation is defined as “an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic and/or sexual attractions to men, women or both sexes. Sexual orientation also refers to a person's sense of identity based on those attractions, related behaviors and membership in a community of others who share those attractions.”
How a person knows whether they are lesbian, gay or bisexual depends on a few things and is NOT the result of sexual experiences. A person’s feelings toward another are dependent on emotional, romantic, and sexual attractions. A person who identifies as bisexual can be emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to both sexes (male and female). Some people know their sexual orientation at younger ages and others never decide. There is no right or wrong answer. It is solely up to you. You don’t have to identify as anything if you do not want to.
