I Think A Guy I Kissed Has Herpes. Is It Possible For Me Have It Without Any Symptoms?
Unfortunately, TeenHealthFX cannot diagnose over the internet. We strongly encourage you to reach out to him. You need to know if he was tested for a sexually transmitted disease (STD), and what was the outcome.
You mention herpes. The CDC explains that there are two types of herpes, one is from sexual contact (genital herpes HSV-2) and the other non-sexual, usually from saliva (oral herpes HSV-1). Since a person can spread oral herpes through saliva without realizing it, we encourage you to get checked out, too.
The only way to know for sure if you have been exposed to any STD is to get tested. If you live in northern New Jersey and need help finding a doctor, contact the Adolescent Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199.
